What we Thought : The AlphaSmart Dana Wireless PDA is rightly called the beast because of its sheer weight and size. The main keys are of normal size but the other functions keys could have been a little bigger. The PDA runs on the Palm operating system, but the only disadvantage is that it has a monochrome screen. The PDA phone is created for the cheap phones market. It has support for 802.11b wireless connectivity in addition to an infrared port. There are additional slots for multimedia cards and USB peripherals like printer.

The keyboard and the screen are quite big. The battery life is also very long and hence the number of times you have to charge it is less. The battery life is more because the screen is monochrome which consumes less power. The Dana Wireless does not fold in half as a small laptop does. The size is just a wee bit small than the average small category laptop. The built in word processor is average as moving the cursor to the next line is a little bit difficult. You can make use of the basic web browser for surfing and sending messages by e-mail. You can work with office files such as Excel and Word. The Dana Wireless sells for Ј309.
